GOALS

In Youth Opportunities Unlimited (Y.O.U.), activities are directed toward the following goals:

• Increase each student's understanding of the importance of an education in today's society and the benefits of graduating from high school
  
  
• Generate enthusiasm for learning in each student
  
  
• Improve each student's ability  to perform successfully in school, on the job, and in life
  
  
• Provide each student with the opportunity to gain one-half unit of high school elective credit in mathematics and in language arts
  
  
• Acquaint each student with the range of educational and vocational opportunities available
  
  
• Expose each student to the curricular and extracurricular activities found on a college campus
  
  
• Teach each student the importance of health care
  
  
• Provide each student with a better understanding of the benefits of higher education and career planning
  
  
• Improve each student's feeling of self-worth
  
  
• Generate a long-lasting, positive impact on the students, families, and communities.
